Our staff

The staff at Kin Kin State School are a small, but dedicated team of professionals.  With years of experience, expertise and a great passion for children's learning, our staff are one of the many strengths of our school.

Together our teaching staff, teacher aides and visiting teachers have skills that have advanced with educational change.  All are able to support students in developing the required skills to engage in computer literacies as a means to learn and to communicate.

Creativity in the arts has been a major strength in our local community for many years, and our staff have ensured that the children of Kin Kin remain immersed in this gift.

We pride ourselves on our ability to be flexible, understanding at all times and always prepared to assist in any way, to make the students' learning educational, rewarding and most of all, fun.

After all, who could not enjoy working here.  You just need to look around at our surroundings, the most picturesque scenery viewed from every window of our school, and you would understand why our staff are relaxed, happy and ready to have a day of learning, fun and adventure.

Mr Trent Shaw:-

Mr Shaw is our Principal and the main class teacher for our students in Year 2 and 3. He undertakes dual roles Monday to Thursday and then has Friday to focus only on his Principal role and responsibilities. Mr Shaw has competently upheld both roles since arriving in 2010 and has become a respected member of the local community.
Mr Shaw came to our school with a wealth of educational and organisational knowledge and has continued his learning in both domains. Before teaching he was a Store Manager at various locations for Amart All Sports. In his teaching career he had fulfilled various teaching roles at numerous locations across varying contexts before arriving at Kin Kin. Over the years at our school, and while upholding his dual roles and responsibilities, he has remained abreast of best practice in education and has completed his Masters of Business Administration.
Mr Shaw has transformed the learning and school community in the best interest of all students and the local community. The school continually improves in all organisational performance measures resulting from his strong leadership. Mr Shaw has led the school from being a National Partnership Literacy School in 2010 to becoming an Independent Public School in 2015, an accolade bestowed on high performing schools with the capacity to be locally governed to continually improve student outcomes.
